Sidenote is a browser extension. We work with your browser to improve your web experience by allowing peer communication... wait for it... anywhere.
This is an exciting time for Sidenote! We are entering an open beta, which means that any user is able to test out and give feedback on Sidenote, but we are still actively making changes.
How does it work?
1. Create an account
Do you have to? No. Should you? Yes!
Sidenote is a social platform, and we want you to contribute! By having an account, you will be able to ask questions, leave reviews, and interact with other notes. Kind of the whole point.
2. Download the extension
If you are unfamiliar, extensions are applications that you install on your browser (ie. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.). The fact that Sidenote is an extension gives it the ability to interact with any page you visit, allowing it to give you an interface for conversation right where you are in your browsing journey.
3. Open the extension
Open the extension drop down by clicking the puzzle piece in the top right corner, and click the pin next to the Sidenote logo. See how the logo got added to your toolbar? Give it a click. This opens up the sidenote panel, showing you other people's thoughts, questions, and reviews, right where you want them!
A forum for the internet
Communication through Sidenote puts the conversation with the content, allowing you to get the information you need, where you need it.
